Country star John Rich delivered this hard truth to Morgan Wallen about his scandal

Apr 17, 2024

Country music star Morgan Wallen found himself on the wrong side of the law.

This feels like it could be a turning point in his career.

And country star John Rich delivered this hard truth to Morgan Wallen about his scandal.

Morgan Wallen arrested on felony charges

Country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested on felony charges in Nashville, Tennessee after he threw chairs off of the rooftop bar of Chief’s Bar – which is owned by fellow country star Eric Church – in the Lower Broadway honky tonk district.

The chairs landed close to officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Wallen was hit with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

The Nashville Police Department released his booking photo with an arrest report that said the “Last Night” singer was “booked early today on 3 cts of felony reckless endangerment and 1 ct of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s Bar Sun night. The chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250.”

Wallen’s attorney Worrick Robinson said he was fully cooperating with authorities.

The arrest came just after he started his highly anticipated One Night at a Time 2024.

John Rich gives embattled country star advice

Country music star John Rich – one of half of Big & Rich – offered some words of wisdom for Wallen after his shocking arrest on social media.

“Reading about Morgan Wallen this morning, and I can’t help but recall all the destructive, crazy things I did early on in my career,” Rich wrote on X. “The combo of intense pressure, expectations, and over the top success is a dangerous cocktail.”

“Thank God I had great mentors who helped guide me out of that mindset, and I hope Morgan has some people around him who care about him enough to help him find a new approach to life,” Rich added. “It takes a lifetime to build what he’s built, and one second to destroy it all. I’m rooting for him to turn it around.”

Wallen is no stranger to controversy or being arrested during his chart-topping career.

In 2020, he was thrown out of Kid Rock’s Big A** Honky Tonk and Rock ‘n’ Roll Steakhouse and arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct for kicking things.

Prosecutors eventually dropped the charges.

And in 2016, he was arrested for DUI in Nashville but the charges were again dropped.

The biggest controversy of his career came when he was caught on video using a racial slur in jest in 2021.

Hunter Biden may get a pass for frequently using the word in question on videos found on his infamous laptop but not a country music star.

That resulted in him nearly being blackballed out of country music for good.

His record label suspended him, radio and streaming pulled his songs, and his videos were pulled from television.

But he went on to become bigger than ever with his record-breaking One Thing at a Time album, which became the longest-running country album to top the charts.

Fans of Wallen will hope that he has another comeback after this incident.
